SASSA Grant Payment Dates
SASSA grant is designed to help low-income families cover the costs of their kid's essential necessities.
The stipend is designed to bridge the gap in living costs, not to replace other sources of income.
SASSA is an acronym for South African Social Security Agency, which was established in 2005.
They are an agency that distributes social subsidies on behalf of the Department of Social Development to South Africans who need them the most.
They provide a variety of social awards, including the Care Dependency Grant, Child Support Grant, Disability Grant, Foster Child Grant, Grant-In-Aid, Older Persons Grant, Social Relief of Distress, War Veterans Grant, and Special COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant.
Child Support Grant
To be eligible for the child support grant, you must satisfy the following requirements:
- You must be the child's primary caregiver.
- You must be a South African citizen, permanent resident, or refugee to apply.
- You and your child must live in South Africa.
- The kid or children must have been born after December 31, 1993.
- You and your spouse must fulfil the means test standards.
- In a governmental facility, the child cannot be cared for.

Disability Grant
You must satisfy the following conditions to be eligible for the disability grant:
- You must be a South African citizen, permanent resident, or refugee to apply.
- You must be a South African resident.
- You must be between the ages of 18 and 59.
- A medical/assessment report confirming permanent, severe disability must be submitted.
- Your medical evaluation must be no more than three months old at the time of application.
- You and your spouse must fulfil the means test standards.
- You are not to be kept or cared for in a state institution.
- You must not be receiving any other social grants in relation to him or herself.

Foster Child Grant
You must satisfy the following criteria to be eligible for the foster child grant:
- You must be a foster parent to one or more children.
- You must be a citizen, permanent resident, or refugee of South Africa.
- Both you and the child must live in South Africa.
- The child must stay in the foster parent's care (s).

Grant-In-Aid
You must satisfy the following criteria to be eligible for the grant-in-aid:
- You must be eligible for an Older Persons Grant.
- A disability award or a War Veteran's grant may be required, as well as the presence of another person full-time.
- Because of his or her physical or mental limitations.
- Must not be cared for at a facility that receives a state subsidy for the beneficiary's care or housing.

Older Persons Grant
You must satisfy the following criteria to be eligible for the older-persons-grant:
- You must be a citizen, permanent resident, or refugee of South Africa.
- You must be at least 60 years old.
- You cannot get another social grant at the same time.
- The means test must be followed by both you and your spouse.
- In a State Institution, you are not allowed to be kept or cared for.
- A 13-digit bar-coded identity document is required.

COVID-19 SRD Grant
You must satisfy the following conditions to be eligible for the COVID-19 SRD grant:
- You must be a citizen or permanent resident of South Africa.
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- It's necessary for you to be unemployed.

Can u apply for SASSA online?
You can apply for the child support grant by filling out an application form at an SASSA Office or a Regional Office's counter service station.
The application is available for free.
In the presence of an SASSA officer, you will fill out your application form.
You will receive a receipt after your application has been completed.
You must save the receipt as verification of your application.
You'll also need to exhibit and give specific documents and information, such as:
- your bar-coded South African identity paper (ID).
- The birth certificate of the kid, which must include an ID number.
- your pay stub, three months' worth of bank statements or pension papers, and any other proof of income
- Your Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) card - "blue book" – or a discharge document from your prior job if you are unemployed.
- If you are not the kid's parent or guardian, you must get written permission from the child's parent or guardian to care for the child.
- If you are not the kid's parent or guardian, tell us about your attempts to persuade the parents to pay child support.
- Information proving that you are the primary caregiver for the kid.
When filling out the application, specify how you want the funds disbursed.
The money can be handed out in cash at a pay point on certain days, or it can be electronically deposited into your bank account.
Keep in mind that any money coming in and out of your bank account is subject to standard bank fees.
You can change your payment method at any time by filling out a form, but the change will not take effect for another month.
You have the right to appeal if the grant is denied.
You'll start receiving payments within three months if it's authorized.
Payments will be made backwards from the day you apply for the grant.
